Local Suburban Connection is Important for Brands

At Katz Tri-State, our main objective and area of expertise is to identify opportunities that can strategically benefit national brands targeting the greater New York marketplace on local radio, by analyzing Nielsen data, including local county coverage, mapping locations, qualitative research, attribution studies and much more. Our role as a resource will assist agency planning and strategy teams to develop a more targeted radio plan that has no gaps in coverage and delivers the entire NY DMA, cost efficiently, and effectively.

Through a single-point-of-contact, agencies and advertisers can utilize this area of expertise that exclusively focuses on delivering local strategy in the Tri-State area in every Nielsen rated embedded metro, in the DMA.

  • Research – Nielsen data, mapping.
  • Strategy – Custom data and research that will deliver a local strategy in the Tri-State.
  • Activation – Handled by a single-point-of-contact that sets up establishes campaigns from program launch to recap, including local personality endorsement campaigns, traffic campaigns, weather triggers, along with various sponsorships and custom on-air content.

Ed Whitman

Senior Vice-President, Director of Sales

Ed Whitman is the Senior Vice-President, Director of Sales for the Tri-State Radio division for the Katz Radio Group. Prior to joining Katz in 2006 to lead the Tri-State division, Ed led the Northeast region national sales for Cumulus Media and amassed 15 years working in local radio broadcasting. With over 30 years in the radio industry, Ed’s expertise centers around the planning, strategy, and execution of radio in the Tri-State area including the state of New Jersey, downstate New York with special emphasis on Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, Poughkeepsie, and Southern, Central and Western Connecticut, including, Fairfield County. Radio Ink Magazine awarded Ed the industry’s National Sales Manager of the Year award in 2006. Ed is also a long-time member of the Broadcaster’s Foundation of America.
